burning records to MP3/CDs

hey boys and girls

for chrimbo i'm going to put all of my wife's old records onto CD for her.
Oh what a lovely surprise!

there seem to be so many pieces of software that you *could* use for the job
:: can anyone recommend a specific item for that job! i can't be the only
one who has done this!
