Low performance of a VDO Picasso head unit and Connects2 i/f
it's a small connector tied together with the antenna cable...
Let me know if you don't find it.

Really is it ?, My experience with active antennas always has been very
poor, I thougth that the idea of active antennas was abandoned long time
ago
by every radio manufacturer.
I think that I'm going to do some sort of experiment, I mean, put a
temporary antenna and compare with the original fitted.
What is the lead you desconnect to take out the supply to the antenna?

I would be very interested too, because the radio reception of my Xsara
is
poor.
It's an active antenna (I don't know for the Picasso) and it performs
better
if you don't feed the antenna amplifier !

Hi, Couple of weeks ago I posted some messages of a connects2
interface
to
a
Picasso VDO HU and sony MP3 changer, I bougth it and I have to said
that
I'm
more than pleased with it. I installed the whole thing in the back
seat
space (the one under the feet). Strange thing is that while the box
had
the
correct reference, the interface itself had the peugeot reference, I
guess
that being PSA cars both have the same HU.
Now, my only unhappyness with the Head Unit is the Radio (FM)
performance,
if you receive a "fringe" signal it gets affected very easily by
unwanted
stations, other units in other cars perform much better. I don't know
if
that is a antenna issue or is the tuner that has low cuality, to me
seems
a
problem more of selectivity than sensitivity wich rules out the
antennae.
Changing the H/U is ruled out because I don't want to loose the
display
info.
- Any idea on how can I improve FM reception?
bye
