Default CDX-T70MX problem mp3

Anyone else using a Sony CDX-T70MX its the 6 disc MP3 player Xplode model..

I am finding that what ever I do to burn CD's it skips some parts of tracks,
like as if the CD was jumping, a slight pause.

I have phoned Sony tech support who were "concerned" of the problem and
asked me questions like what bit rate do I use and Do I close the session
after writing the CD.

I am awaiting there official response, but it only happens infrequently,

Just wondered if anyone else had similar problem's and new of a fix.

Cheers
Ron

Hi There...

I posted this about a month ago in response to someone who asked about the
CDX-T70...

This is not the full post... just the bit that you're requiring a response
on...

Although the unit is supposedly compatible with VBR (if you're into MP3's
you'll know what this is) I found that my version isn't... nor is it too
happy about MP3's encoded at more than 256kbps.... drop outs and other
irritating stuff. It is my belief that the unit lacks the processing power
to deal with both high bit rate MP3's and VBR MP3's.

Just for info, I use EAC to rip MP3's with LAME as the encoder... which
produces superb results... even if I can't go above256kbps CBR.

This is fine when ripping from CD's (which I sometimes do and which are, of
course, originals that I already own) but what this does mean is that some
MP3's downloaded from the likes of Kazzaa or other P2P networks (of course,
I would not advocate this practice, and certainly wouldn't do it myself) do
not play too well in the Sony player. I contacted Sony regarding this as it
says VBR is okay in the instruction leaflet... I asked them whether there
was a firmware upgrade or such like...

Their response was:

Thank you for your recent enquiry.
Sony United Kingdom Limited is aware of this situation and are currently
investigating the issue.
Unfortunately, there are no available upgrades at this point in time.
I apologise for any disappointment my reply may cause.

So there you have it...

Apart from that it's served me well.... I do 40000 miles per year and after
the initial problems it has been faultless.

Regards

Dave G

Sony just contacted me to tell me, that " I should finalise my cd's after
writing them, and also not to use variable rate MP3's? Other than that he
said it should work fine.

To be honest if the pc can play MP3's perfect then so should the Sony, if
its not up to the task then it will be going back....

Hello,

I read just your problem. I have the same problem here. My cd-player is
even send back to Sony. But there was according Sony nothing wrong. I
use 128 kbps and not use variable rate. Even I have closed the CD. And
also the cd play’s perfect on the computer.
I have the player almost a year a have not found any solution for this
problem yet.
The only thing what I have found is that when I use the program
MP3Gain the mp3’s who has then indicate clipping have the problem.

Greetings Greta.
