Fiat Punto Stereo Help...
Hi, I recently got a 1998 Fiat Punto 85 sx, the stereo cassette player
inside it has buttons for a cd changer, after reading bits and bobs on the
net, I found the Philips RC026 was meant to be the one for it, so I managed
to one up cheaply.
The problem I have is that the connector at the end is totally the wrong
shape to plug into the back of the stereo, and looking at the manual it says
the radio is a philips 349/64 which I dont think is compatible, I dont think
thats the stereo in the car though as the manual doesnt mention the CD
control buttons at all and the stereo even says on it 'cd changer control'
over the tape slot.
Anyone got any idea about this, basically i need to know:
1.What stereo came factory fitted with the fiat punto 85 sx?
2.Does the RC026 fit into it, and if so, do I need a different bus cable?
the plug that came with it is a small bule square one with 3 rows of pins
like that:
- - -
- -
- - -
whereas the only free slot I can see on the stereo is the normal length(like
the ones you put the power/speaker plugs into).
cheers for your help :-)
