Hi

Can anyone offer any tips with regard to installing a subwoofer into a 2003
147.

The car does not have the Bose system installed.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

What do you want to know exactly Steve, be more specific m8

Or maybe the correct question would be: What do "you" have in mind?

Get back to me with some requirements and a budget and we will fix ya
up.

Georgi

P.S. Im also an Alfa owner What the 147 shassis like btw? I have
heard worrying things about those little buggers.

Ok, I've done it now....

What I wanted to do was add a sub whilst keeping the existing head unit and
not damaging any of the cabling in the car. In case anyone is interested,
here is how I did it:-

There is already a 30A supply in the boot of every 147. This is designed to
plug into the Bose system.

I used this supply to feed the amplifier, and got a ground connection from a
nearby bolt.

I bought a male and female ISO connector and soldered all the wires
together. To the rear speaker wires, I also joined a speaker-line level
converter.

I then ran a phono cable to the boot where the amplifier was installed.

There is a single pin on the ISO C connector on the back of the factory
radio. This is labelled "Booster SW". This pin is actually the remote power
connector. I connected this - via a 1A fuse - to the remote pin on the
amplifier.

Just as a matter of interest, the "Power ANT" connector on the Alfa
Blaupunkt radio is live at +12V permanently (even with the ignition turned
off!).

So, sub installed without cutting any wires, and without having to run a
heavy duty power cable from the engine compartment to the boot!

To answer the second part of your question, the car is absolutely beautiful
to look at and handles nicely. Build quality is on a par with the Golf / A3.
Engine sounds fantastic too!

Can anyone tell me where the 30A supply is that is supposed to be in th
boot of all 147s. I have a 2003 147 without the bose system.

I want to put an amp in the boot, but don't want to run a cable all th
way to the battery.

I have looked but cannot find the mentioned supply - am I blind or jus
not looking in the correct place??

Thank
