Default MP3 Head Unit Opinions

I've got the Kenwood Z838w... quality unit. I love it. No gaps between mp3
tracks and plays everything I've every thrown at it (including wma tracks,
if you feel like violating yourself).

Add the Alpine CDA-9815RB and CDA-9813R to the "like very much" list.

I'm about to replace my trusty Sony MDX7900R head unit.

Vehicle is a Land Rover Discovery (with sub in rear door), budget is

£300.
I already have a Sony head unit with the remote control stick (connects

via
a 3mm jack plug), so something Sony that could re-use the stick would be

a
bonus.

Could you guys recommend an MP3 compatible head unit? I've been looking

at
caraudiodorect.co.uk for specs and prices.

So far, the Kenwood KDCM7024 and the Sony CDX-M850MP look like

contenders.
;-)

Opinions, advice etc. all appreciated.

Thanks
H.
