Default JL Audio 15" subwoofer question

I was searching for some subs for sale online to get an idea of the price
range. Now audio wanted 375 for one 15" 15W3. I was wondering what's the
difference in the models and how the perform from each other. I'm asking
because I havent found a place yet that has these subs and an amp working at
the same time, and I cant listen to them for myself, i'm all bad luck at the
moment. The subs are . . .

JL Audio
15W3
15W3 d2
15W3 d4
10W0

I was wondering what's the best of these models and how they perform to each
other. I was looking at getting the 15W3's but I found a great deal on a
pair of 15W3 d2's. How do these rate to the 15W3's? I just found out that
i'm getting a truck i'm trading in my camaro. Would these be too much for
that truck for me to handle with such small space in the cab? I could deal
with it but people with first hand experience are the best and what i'm
looking for.

Thanks for the time.

All the W3s are essentially the same, the "d2" etc suffix refers to the
voice coil configuration. "d2" = dual two ohm coils, "d4" = dual four ohm
coils. There might also be a d6 or d8, but I can't remember. If nothing is
quoted then it's *probably* a dual-four, but you should check before buying.

The W0 series is JL's budget range. They're good, but you won't be
surprised to know there's a reason why a 15W3 costs a bit more than a
10W0.....

Default JL Audio 15" subwoofer question

Well I have a 12W3-D4 sub running Dual Voice Coils in parrallel @ 2Ohms
Impedance.

I think the W3 in general is an awesome sub, it is very tight and moves
quickly, altough I dont think I have seen the best of mine yet due to
the lack of funds to buy the proper amplification this sub can handle
(needs to handle).

Only problem I find with a 12 or a 15 is that there is no punch base,
that frequency range reproduction is muffled to say the least, but when
they go low you bloody well know about it and it feels great.

Thumbs up if you want low base with quick responce (assuming you have
the right tools to drive the sub).

Stay away from the W0 series unless you have absolutely no budget and
even then its a waste of money in my mind.

Today's 10 subs can hit hard, I am told by someone who knows a bit
about this kind a thing that Diamond Audio subs "M6" if ur on a budget,
or "TDX" if money is no object, are the only subs to have, furthermore
either of those two would put any 12 or 15 to shame in every aspect of
sub performance, but dont start dreaming (like me) just yet, unless you
have 500 nikka for a 10" Diamond sub, go look elsewhere.

Hope this helps

Peace

Georgi
