I like the CAN-Bus :-) But not in my car!


CAN (Controller Area Network) is designed specifically for use in harsh
electrical environments such as automotive applications. It has pretty
impressive error resilience &c. -- look it up on Google :-)

I wouldn't worry too much about CAN being a weak link.


I think that every bit of electronis used in cars makes them more
vulnerable.

I think most/many electronics make the car _more_ reliable: it's just that
when they do break down, the local mechanic can't do a thing.
