Default Adding a CD changer to European 5 door Civic (new shape)

Having just been quoted over £500 to add a CD player to my car by my Honda
dealer, I thought I'd look at the aftermarket options. I've found a
couple of dealers (incardiscount.co.uk and www.mcs-direct.co.uk) who will
supply the sony T70 changer (plays mp3 cds as well as ordinary) and an
adaptor for about £250. My questions a

1) Is the sound quality good through these adaptor kits?
2) Is £230 a good price or does anyone know any better?

Many thanks,

Lawrence

Hi Lawrence,
I assume you're taking about an MHOS001 adapter.
I work in development for MES who make the Connects2 adapter and I can
assure you that every care is taken to make our adapters sound at
least as good as the original changer.
The only problem you may have is an occasional glitch on VBR mp3's,
this is a Sony problem and as far as I know is being looked into.

As far as the price is concerned, can't help you there.

Stu.

Thanks for the rapid reply Stu. I've just had a look at the Connects2
website and it does not say which radios the adaptor works for. I have the
1SC1 radio in my car. Any idea if it works for that one?

Hi Lawrence,
Just had a look at the units I developed the Honda adapter on,
and one if them has ISC1on the front panel. So I don't think you'll
have any problems with compatibility.
