Default Portable in-car MP3 player

Is there a portable MP3 player out there that is 'dockable' once you take it
in the car?

I guess I'm thinking of something like the iPOD, and when you take it in the
car, you can drop it into a cradle (that's permanetly connected to the head
unit) and viola - you have MP3 available.

Is there such a device available?

Thanks

Kenwood Music Keg with a compatible headunit comes to mind. It's basically a
cartridge with an in car holder and also a PC docking station.

Check out:

http://www.phatnoise.com/

Uses FLAC encoding (Free Lossless Audio Codec) to get 20% more music on
the disc without losing quality, or can do MP3.

The iPod.

It's trivial to pipe it's sound into your car, either through the LineOut or
with one of the many FM Transmitters that connects to the iPod.
