Default Problem removing Zafira radio

I removed the Philips radio from my Rover a few years ago. I used a couple
of knitting needles to unlock it from the cage and pulled it out with my
fingers in the cassette slot. Easy peasy.

Hi Lads

Got some Vauxhall Key things from Halfords, didn't work. Kept on
popping out of the holes when I pulled. Staff there were very
unhelpful.

Gav, you mentioned using knitting needles and I'm liking the sound of
it. Which direction in the hole did you poke them to undo the clips?
To the outside of straight down the middle?

Cheers

the keys should have worked.
push them as far back and as hard as you can without breaking anything.
pull them slightly apart from eath other. (leftRight)

then pull on the cassette deck.

It will give way......

Default Problem removing Zafira radio

Hi lads, I'm all sorted.

After spending an hour at the Halfords near my work going back and
forth from the shop to the car telling them the keys are not working,
they gave me my cash back and told me to go to a Vauxhall Dealer.

Decided to go to the Halfords around the corner from my home later on
and they immediately told me that the keys that the other brach had
sold me were for double din radios and mine was a single din. (ie my
keys were for a radio that was double the height). He told me that
they should have checked as these keys would never work and especially
as I had been back in the shop 3 times to double-check!!

The bloke then kindly got the correct tools, went out to the car and
removed the radio for me within 10 seconds for no charge.

Thanks for everyone's input on this one. I'll know better for next
time. The keys work, but make sure you get the right ones!!

Cheers
