Default Bridging?

Ok this is probably a very silly question from someone who doesn't really
understand audio electronics but is it possible to bridge 2 channels on a 4
channel amp and keep the other 2 channels unbridged (and stereo) for the
components or is this going to need to be a 2 amp setup?

Some do. My old Kenwood 4ch job could be configured like that.

Thanks, sounds like I will need to try to get a copy of the manual before I
splash out.

Depending on which type of amp you are using this is a fairly common
option. If you still have a manual for the amp you are looking at the
option to run 3 channels.

Yes, no problem at all, unless you buy a really weird (and probably very
old) amp. Every four channel amp I've ever come across has been capable of
doing what you propose. In fact, it's what four channel amps are normally
intended for !

Steve.

Thanks to all of you. Sounds like I should be ok then.
