Is there a place on the web where you can download car manuals? The escort I
bought didn't have a manual. I need to know which wire goes where on the cd
player.

Go he https://www.ownerconnection.com/

After you create a logon and add your car, you can download a manual.
You will need your VIN number to add the car.

No.

That information isn't in the manual anyway.

Go to a autoparts store, and buy a hanes manual.

Or, learn to use a multimeter.

Real men use multimeters.

Really, Johan, it would be a big help if you could tell us more about
your car. Various models have been sold around the world with the
name "Escort" since the 1970s. Can you tell us how old it is, whether
it has front wheel drive, and any other information you have?

I don't suppose you have a Mk I Cosworth BDA, do you?

website seems to be very considerate towards people from outside US. no
option for South Africa. VIN number does not exist on their database.

Still no manual!

Johan Wagener ) gurgled happily, sounding much
like they were saying :

Since that's a US website, and US Fords are very different to European ones,
it doesn't surprise me. Gawd knows whether a Seth Effrikan 'scrote is
similar to the ones here.

Have you tried Ford locally? Or, perhaps more usefully, a local car audio
supplier.

OK, then perhaps you could swap in a bigger Zetec to speed things
up. There are lots of Zetec performance sites around. As to the
clutch, others would have a better idea than I; that's not a car
that's sold in North America. And for the stereo, perhaps some of our
European correspondents would have some info. Or try Google. I found

Thanks Stephen. Great help. How hard is it to change engines? What is the
success rate?
