Default Alpine and CDR

All,

I've just put my Alpine CDA-7944R back into the car and it seems that it is
not at all happy with modern CDR's (my old batch of about a year ago used to
be fine). I've tried 7 different media types with no success. The disk can
be read but the unit sounds like it is slipping and eventually picks up and
plays after about 30secs to a minute. Dug out some old disks on the previous
media type (unbranded so I have no idea what it was) and some commercial
pressed CD's, these play fine. The problem seems better / worse with various
media but nothing is perfect.

Anyone got any suggestions on media that works with this unit?

N.B Yes I have cleaned the lens and yes I have also tried dropping the
recording speed of the CDRW down as low as 4x.

Regards

Ben
