Me and my brother got a panasonic CQRDP383 CD/mp3/WMA tuner for xmas, his is
in a peugeot.. and weve now found an adapter to allow the factory stalk
controls to work with the new stereo.

my stereo however will be going in my motorhome when i get her back with the
new body on her.. i'm building the motorhome my self (appart from the
coachbuilt body) and i've begun to install some half decent ice before she
went for the re-body, (large speakers in custom pods at the back of the cab
bulkhead, there'll be a bass tube or 2 behind the seats, component speakers
in the door panels and tweeters on the dash etc)

the stereo is very low down in the van tho, and is a bit of a pain to get to
when driving, i usually ask me GF to operate it for me, but a remote would
be handier.

i know i can get the infa red remote for the stereo i have now.. but that's
pretty basic, and i'll have to hold it in my hand to operate it etc,

so i'm thinking of getting a stalk control unit from a car at the scrapper,
and adding it to my van, very easy to do in my eyes, it's only finding a
place to mount it, and run the wire to where the stereo lives, then getting
the apropriate stalk controll adapter lead to convert the inputs from the
stalk to the single wire input the panasonic unit wants.

Anyway, as the van never had anything like this, i can choose what ever
stalk controll i want, but i'm wondering how many features will work with
the panasonic head unit i have.. i.e my brothers peugeot controll does
volume, tuning, scan and something else i think,

if i found a car that had say 20 features on the stalk controll.. (well, at
least volume, mute, tuning, cd track forwards and back, and mp3 folder
advance would be nice), and got the stalk from that, when would i come
unstuck and have controlls the panasonic unit wont respond to??

basicaly i guess what i need to know is anyone got a panasonic head unit in
a car, with loads of controlls from the stalk?? if so what were they?? and
what's the car you have?

Or is there a universal stalk controll i can get to have as many functions
replicated on the stalks as i can?
