I need to dim the brightness of my HU. anyone ventured inside and replaced
the bulbs or covered them with black ink?

I unscrewed the front cover and packed the inside of some of the
buttons with blue tac. You can't do this for the bit around the
two knobs, or for the two bigger buttons (one does the band
change), but its quite a bit dimmer now.

You might be able to use a marker pen as well, but I wanted
something that could be cleaned off easily if necessary.

It is silly that these lights don't dim when you set the main
display to dim.
