Default Input supply voltage

Greatings everyone.

I have just installed a Calibra 200Wx4 amp and 2x 225W 6x9's (50W RMS) -The
SUB is comming later.

The amp is clipping at higher volumes and the sound is not as clear as I
would like it. I have played with the gain etc, there is not much difference
to the sound quality. Also the speakers are mounted below a carpeted MDF
board.

My only issue is the supply from the battery, The only cable I could find at
home was 25Amp single core cable. (House wiring) this worries me slightly as
it may not be heavy enough. (There is no heat build up on the cable)

Perhaps someone can advice me, as well as how to get the darn wire through
the firewall of a Corsa GSI.

Thanks
Reg.

Cable will be fine. I imagine that the speakers can't cope.
