Default RDS time sync problem

Replaced my old Philips radio/cassette recently with a Kenwood MP3 head unit
and all works fine, except:-

Now when you enter the car and plug in the removable fascia, the clock(set
to auto set from RDS) invariably shows the wrong time, sometimes up to a few
hours out. It usually corrects itself after anywhere from 1-30 minutes.

The old unit didn't have this problem, but then again the arrangement was
totally different, no removable fascia and also my car(Vectra) displayed the
clock on a separate panel; the Kenwood clock is on the HU itself.

I'm based in Dublin at the moment, the RDS here seems to operate slightly
different to the UK(no traffic announcements, etc.) so I'm prepared to
believe it could be something to do with a flaky time signal(although surely
the unit shouldn't be losing so much time?)....any ideas??

Jim.

Try swapping the live feeds that are going to the radio,Vauxhall use the
opposite power wiring to most manufacturers.

Thanks John,

When I installed the unit I had to do this, otherwise all the radio presets
were lost every time it was powered off. Don't think it's anything to do
with power or taking the fascia off; sometimes the time will go wrong as I'm
driving along, then correct itself in a few minutes,

jim.
