Default Blaupunkt London CD 70

I bought this radio cd player 2 years ago with the in-dash cd changer which
is fitted to a Rover 827, and has worked well until now.
Put the key in the ignition started up and noticed that the radio did not
come on, dead like the fuse had blown. When I got home I checked to see if
the fuse had blown in the car and also at the back of the unit, all ok!
I then checked to see if all the connections were ok, put the unit back and
turned it on, install screen came on for a second and then went back out?
Tried taking out the keycard and putting it back, then noticed the display
lit but went back out again when I closed the face, although the in-dash cd
changer is still operating? I removed the cd's...

Anyone know if there is a fault with these units, or had the same experience
and had it repaired, or is it time to get another new head unit that will
work with the in-dash cd changer?

Thanks

Steve
