If you're looking for a decent Hard Disk based MP3 player then do not worry
yourself with expensive imports. You can get a good quality player here in
the UK for less than £300, even less than £200 for a base model. The one I
use is called the "mStation", it is designed for in-car use and fits into
your PC to download the files onto it.
It also comes with a backlit LCD display and remote control, and will
display track names based on id3 tags. You can use it with your existing
head unit, using either an FM modulator, or line-input (if fitted).
You can see details and buy them he http://www.6thplanet.co.uk
Why bother with CD-based units that only play about 80-100 tracks when you
can get one that holds 20,000 ?

Thanks for the info.
The JVC looks good and the specs seem good to be what I'm after but is
it? (ok I know it's gotta be better than the Blaupunkt CD that's in
there at the moment)
As to the hard drive I like the idea of the hard drive based system
but I was trying to steer away from the CD changer style of player
(lots of pulling up carpet and trim) and just do a straight swap for
the factory fitted CD player for an MP3 one.
Thanks.
