Default 6*9 advice in 1999 Mondeo

Hi all,

Trying to get a pair of 6*9 into the front of my Mondeo (1999 S).
I realise that I will need to cut a bit out from the 5*8 cut outs that exist
but am limited by the depth to the window.
I have between 71 and 79mm depth to window from inner skin, so max of 70mm
rear protrusion.
Just got a pair of infinity reference speakers 9603i, but did not now the
depth till removed panels, these nice infinitys are 81mm rear depth, bummer!
So can anyone suggest a model that will go in ok for the depth? I want to
keep existing positions for full stealth. Tried some 6.5" 2 way kenwoods
with adaptor plates, but they sound pants compared to the factory fit Fords!
BTW driving direct from a JVC KD-G701 with no intention of an amp or sub;
its a family car to be full of kids stuff!

Please help, urgent!

TIA

Ok , I had a Ka which used the same OEM 5*7's as the mundaneo.

Kenwood KFC?6808s [1]which were a 6*8 speaker with a narrow surroud fitted
in , but as they were deeper than the standard ones so I had to make some
5mm spacers to move them out a bit. Running off the OEM CD player and also a
decent sony HU they were a big improvement on standard speakers.

I have JBL 6x9's in my 97 mondeo front doors. No mods required to door or
surround. Excellent power handling too!!!! BTW the standard spk's are 6 x 9
