It is against the ebay policy and if someone complains , ebay can
withdraw your listing.

Its against ebay policy to send spam about your listing , but that
specifically says email.

Nowhere do they mention newsgroups , so it would be down to whether the
newsgroup in question allows adverts as some do.

After all if someone is looking for what you are selling they can
find it of their own accord.
