Default head unit wiring question

I have recently bought a Sony cdx-m9900. the auxiliary input does not
display video on the screen unless you connect a light green wire to the
handbrake switch wire for safety reasons. if I wanted to bypass this(eg for
reversing camera) what should I connect this wire to? constant 12 volt
supply?

Almost all units need a ground for the monitor to work. So ground that
wire, if that's what yours needs, and you are all good.
