Default Astra Phillips Compatible CD Changer

Hi

I have just bought an Astra and it has a Phillips Car400 stereo in it with
Steering Wheel Controls and was just wondering how I stood with putting my
old JVC KD-S673R CD head unit in? Would I lose the steering wheel controls?

I'm quite good with car stereos but have no experience with this as of yet.
Are only certain units compatible with the SWCs if so what do I look for on
the stereo I get? and how does the wiring differ?

My only option is to get a CD Changer which the manual says I can use but
again I have no experience of these, from what I can gather I just need the
changer and a Bus Lead? but which ones are compatible?

I apologize in advance for the twenty questions, any help would be
gratefully received, ta!

you need a high end sony or kenwood head unit and an adapter lead to keep
your steering wheel controls and you can also keep the radio display in the
dash
your car400 head unit does not have cd changer control you need a car600 to
do that and also if the car has the cd changer wiring already fitted
