A T shaped thing bolts onto the back of the stereo. This hangs onto a rail
at the top of the slot. The cage and Fascia hold the front up, the t-bracket
holds the back up.

saw a guy at work who works at Halfords - got him to explain it to me lol

he said to put the cage into the facia, attach it...connect the wires - put
the black bracket (comes with facia on) and connect it to the rail...or
something!

i figure i can probably get away with just attaching the cage to the facia
and sticking it in without the bracket supprrt - what do you think? reckon
it will hold it up? i wanna make sure tho as it looks like it will be quite
hard to get the facia off once its on!

It's pretty bloody simple. There's a rail at the top of the slot that the
stereo slides into. It's narrower at the front. All you do is get the two
lugs on the top of the plastic t-shaped bracket to catch on at the front as
you slide it in.

As for the cage, pretty much what your mate from Halfords said - put cage in
fascia and slide the stereo in, or put the cage around the stereo then slide
the fascia over. And turn up some of the lugs to keep the fascia and cage
held together - which ones will depend on the depth of the fascia plate.
