Default Boschmann stuff? Any good

I was looking for that rare breed, a 4" midrange speaker for a
factory-fit install, and I'm finding these things called Boschmann on eBay.

They're cheap and I don't know the brand. Are they any good? I've bid on
one pair as an experiment, but some are listed with tweeters which would
suit my application perfectly - if they aren't junk.

Just driving them from a JVC SX998R headunit, nothing fancy.

About as good as you'd expect from a power tool manufacturer! If you
get them for a tenner they're probably not a bad buy, but I'd question
whether they're worth much more than that - or whether they'll
actually poduce anything resembling midrange.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember RichardK
saying something like:

They're **** compared to decent brands. I had a pair of them from cpc a
couple of years ago and one started rattling its head off even though it
was never overdriven.

Yeah, I'm of the same opinion now! Still, they'll do for now until I can
pick up some decent components for the doors (car has tweeters on the
dash with the capacitor crossover so many manufacturers use; so I want
to avoid rewiring and I doubt the commonly available mid/tweeter units
would sound remotely good with that on the wires!).

Seen some Kenwood 100w 10cm *dual cone* as opposed to coaxial (i.e. only
one driver). Might try those next.

The Kicker EX4.2 setup I fitted to the rear of the car seems alright -
with passive crossover (probably a capactor, but in a pretty box) it
seems to really bring the treble out.
