No it's not. You'd need to switch the amp input signals, to prevent
the output stage on one unit "seeing" the other. As the iPaq almost
certainly doesn't have a mute on guidance it's unlikely that this will
be a practical solution, unless you intend not to listen to the head
unit whilst you're using the navigation.

Well, I tried connecting the iPAQ to the high level input of the amp, and it
works just fine :-)

No, the music is not muted while the navigation instructions are being
played, but that is not a problem (I just turn the iPAQ up a bit) - It would
annoy me more if it did mute the radio to be honest (My mates car does this,
and it ia bloody annoying if you are trying to listen to any traffic
reports!)
