Default Car stereo capable of playing MP3 and WMA from DVD-R/DVD+R

Does anyone know of a standard DIN size unit that will play MP3 and WMA
files from a recordable DVD disc? My music collection is rapidly filling my
hard drive so I was thinking of finding a unit that could play from DVD so I
can burn the tracks/albums off to DVD-R or DVD+R and get the space on my
hard drive. There do seem to be some dash mounted DVD players that may do
the job but I'm thinking that the actual cost of a DVD drive is not that
different from a CD so there is a gap in the market for a reasonably priced
unit. I don't really want to fork out for a DVD movie player since I
wouldn't use it and with screens installed would make my car more of a crime
target.

I've seen the units that can play from SD/USB stick but then I would have to
have large numbers of these so it's not really cost effective.

Thanks in advance,

Guy

Blaupunkt and Alpine both have units that do this

The speaker system brings the sound,
In light effects I'm spinnin round
All the people on the floor they shake their bodies cry for more.
Never let this feeling go and let the music take control.
Forget your problems and be free,
Enjoy this moment, come with me!

There's also the JVC KD-AVX1 or, if you can live wthout WMA support,
Sony's MEX-R1 and R5.

I'd forgot about the JVC - looks like a cool unit, mate just got one for his
car.

The JVC one is pretty good, the dvd screen is suprisingly larger than you
would imagine and because you are so close to it it seems bigger than it is.

The only problems I have with mine a-

* You can NOT fast forward or rewind within an MP3 file. Normal cd files
are fine.
* The DVD playback has VERY limited control from the unit. Only with the
remote can you do things like pause or zoom or things like that.
* It takes a while to read whatever disk is placed in it. With my old
Alpine, you placed the CD in and it would play within seconds. It can take
up to 10 seconds to work out what disk it is and what type it is and start
to play.

However, the menu system is pretty good and in the dark its good to look at.
