Default Removing Mondeo Radio to fit iPod adapter - need advice

Hi,

CD/Radio marked ""6000 CD RDS E O N" / "CD Changer Compatible". Fitted in a
Mondeo 2001 / Y

I've got the removal tool and can pull out the unit, but not far enough to
see round the back, let alone reach round and unplug anything. Something is
stopping it from coming out any further.

I'm a bit concerned about pulling any harder in case it unplugs the wires at
the risk of not being able to reconnect them without taking the dash apart.

Does anyone *know* if the cables are long enough to pull it completely out
of the dash and reach round the back without accidentally unplugging the
cables ?

Or do I have to dismantle part of the dash ?

Changing the subject slightly:

I've not bought the iPod adapter yet, I was just investigating how to remove
the radio first.

I was thinking of buying one of these (Ford iPod Ice Link Plus Adapter) and
would appreciate any comments:

Thanks

Dave.
