Default Sony poor fm which brand is best?

I would highly recommend DAB then you can mostly dispense with FM/AM. I
have Blaupunkt Woodstock 52 but I believe there are improved and cheaper
models now (I bought in 2004). You can also play not only MP3s on CD but
has an SD Card (I use 1GB). Downside with the Woodstock is I needed another
aerial (windscreen). DAB really is ideal for the car, the best accessory I
ever bought!

I replaced my factory fit VW Gamma headunit with a new Sony
CDX-GT700 although i like the sound quality on cd and the rest of the unit
The Fm/AM tuner is much poorer than the old unit I have the correct leads
etc to power
the aerial

So which headunit is as good or even better on radio reception?

Thanks
