can anyone help i am not getting any power to my amp in my car

Default can anyone help i am not getting any power to my amp in my car

i have jut bought a amp and sub for my car

i have connected the amp to the battery (should that give me power
straight off as in the power LED comes on but it doesnt in my case if
it has to) or do i need the cable to my stereo to actually turn on my
amp??

also i do not know how to connect my amp to my stereo have a kenwood
KDC-W8531 stereo

im sure there was something else

no thats is i think

please help soon as poss quite like it to be working before i go on a
road trip 2 days away

You have to use the remote lead to turn on the amp.

i'm not familiar with the W8531 H/U, but you'll need an RCA lead 3 or 5m,
and a speaker harness to run back from the amp to the original speaker leads
at the dash.

ok yea i was playing around with it today it was connected to the
radio

but when checking my wiring my earth had come loose from body of car
even though screwed down to it hmm ah well all is good

thanks for the help!
