Does this transmit over standard phono cable or need a special type?

Thanks...

any rca cable will work perfectly if your run is less than a fraction
of a wavelength (ie: less than 500')

Well, since the signal is a square wave with edge harmonics up to
50MHz or higher, one might also consider the wavelength of interest
for mismatching to be more like 6 metres. You'd then consider that a 1
metre cable just might show some minor effects.

more from the 'BWGames school' of uk.rec.audio-ism:

Only if you belive the exotic cable salesmen!
Any normal phono lead should be fine, the quality of the cable for digital
can be lower even than for analogue.

Thanks - I've been putting standard phono in (2 for stereo and one for
video), so I only need one now for digital audio for my HTPC setup.

*wonders what to use spare phono for*
