DVD A11 too expensive in UK?

What makes you think the selling price *anywhere* has any relation to
the actual manufacturing cost?
Most manufacturers like to sell for more than their costs.
But what makes you think that I think the selling price has any relation
to the cost?
Because you seem to think it should be a fixed multiple of the
manufacturing costs (allowing for currency variations) if you choose to
compare prices in one country to another.
I am asking why it costs so much more in the UK than in the USA.
Wages, taxes, volume of sales, cost of warranty claims, profits, property
prices - etc etc. Anything that influences the selling cost.
I also get the impression that Denon US gives better service.
Could well be.

Sorry you got that impression. It's not the case. However, there must be a
reason for the higher pricing. I'd like to know what it is.

You mean you don't know :-)

Well, the above is partially true, in that no-one can sell below what it
costs them overall and stay in business. But many things are sold on the
basis of what the market will bear.

Well I am (potentially) part of the market and because of the discrepancy
I'm looking for a better price (or a better-value product).

That's your prerogative, and if normal dealer facilities don't matter,
then purchase from where you find the best value. But if purchasing from
outside the EU, remember there may be duty to pay on top of carriage costs.
