Default Can I do this safely ?

Can I send the " centre " channel output from my DTS preamp processor to a
Cyrus 1 integrated amplifier to utilise the power amps in the Cyrus.? I was
wondering this as I would like to use my old Cyrus 1 as a centre channel
poweramp instead of buying another poweramp.
If I adjust the volume control on the Cyrus to a reference volume on my
processor & leave the Cyrus volume set at this would the processor preamp
then adjust the output to the Cyrus to act as a volume control.
Would I use tape in as the connection to the Cyrus 1 ? Is this line level ?
TIA

Should work. You ought to try it - and bring up the volume controls slowly
and carefully.
