Default Finding out input capacity of t.table/stylus

Hi All,

I have a gadget that allows me to plug my turntable into my pc and then
permits me to record vinyl onto the PC.

However it has a switch with three positions for 'input capacity':

100pf, 250pf and 430pf

I have a Sony PS-LX431 turntable with a Sony VL42G stylus.

How can I determine the correct setting for my turntable. I have checked
its manual but there is no information regarding this value.

Thanks
Kevin

Try all three and use the one that sounds best to you.

You won't break anything.

After fiddling around it became audibly pretty obvious. Just didn't
fancy breaking or frying anything first time around.

Thanks.

Ideally, you'd need a test record and some form of device to measure its
output at the various frequencies and set to the best compromise. But just
choosing the one which sounds best will do.

That's what I did. I was initially a bit bothered by frying something by
choosing a setting willy nilly but it didn't matter. And... as I said in
a previous post it was pretty apparent what setting to use.

Thanks
Kevin
