such as Teac and Revox?

I was offered a Revox many years ago, sadly it was out of my price range

the time. Never having owned a reel to reel, I feel like I've missed out

Had a Revox B77 MkII over many years for recording live events. A well
built & good sounding machine which from time to time took its place in my
home listening setup. Thought it was a tad heavy (17kg) for location work
until I saw guys heaving Hammond B3's & Leslies around which put it all into
perspective. The Revox was replaced eventually by DAT... but your post
made me blow the dust of the tape machine and listen once again ...and it
aint 'arf bad :-)

It's an aesthetic thing too innit? just to see those big (preferably 10")
reels going round is an artistic experience in itself. I've got a Sony DAT
machine as well, but, well, there's nowt to look at!
