Default CD Player Interferes With Radio Reception ?

In article , Stevie Boy
writes

Multi-element aerials are a bit counter-productive now we're past the
BBC-only days when all you had to do was aim it at Wrotham or Crystal
Palace! We pick up FM from more than one direction now.

Yes the polarity of the way they transmit was changed some years ago to help
car radio reception in built up areas. However this seems to have had the
counter productive effect of reducing the effective area the signal once
covered.
I prefered the old days when you could travel miles and still pick up a
signal.

Steve

Shouldn't do. If your referring to the old days the polarisation was all
horizontal which was very awkward on cars. Just wonder if something in
your radio is causing it to mute prematurely perhaps?..
