Hifi World, for me at least, seems one of the sanest around.

Their opinions about kit seem the most sensible and consistent over
time that I have read.

They do seem to have focused primarily on budget equipment in recent
years though, which is something of a shame (unless one is interested
in budget equipment, of course).

Perhaps of course, they realise that aside from loudspeakers, there's
no point in buying anything else? :-)

Hi,

Please could you suggest which hi-fi magazines are most useful to help

short-list kit?

I've always found the hifi pages at the back of Gramophone to be the
most trustworthy.

I always used to in the old "Geoffrey Horn" days. Unfortunately I find the
current contributors trip out the same sort of hyperbole you get in "hi-fi"
mags.

Roy.

Indeed, although I have found the content to be less useful lately.
Gramophone's reviews of AVI equipment assisted me a great deal in
years gone by.

May I ask what type of music you listen to?
