Hi,

I have a Sugden Connoisseur BD2 turntable in need of a motor suspension
kit.

Anyone help me with a supplier please ?

I've tried Technical and General in Crowborough but no one is answering
the phone ! Any alternative suppliers ?

Steve - I don't think you will find a source for spares - however, if it's
just the elastic bands that need replacing - then I would just buy a packet
from WH Smith - pick he 3 smallest, double or treble them and fit them (you
need to remove the suspension plate from the deck first, of course!). It's a
relatively easy job that I have done many times with my BD2 (which I have
had since the 1970s)and I have had no problems with it
hope that helps
Cheers
Andy

Well you might try A ****ING CD YOU BACKWARD ****. Perhaps you could spend
a few quid on a cd player and the difference on something constructive,
like a university education.

Or something constructive like your "oh so helpful" comments, maybe?

Dumb****.

Just what I was thinking.

Hi,

I know it's been a long time since your request was posted but if you are still looking for the 'Webkit' for the Sugden Connoisseur BD2A (BD2 /BD1) then try Signals UK - Electronic Components and Spares Distributors.

Go into Turntable belts and use code TTB258 for belt ref Connoisseur BD2A and then look under webkit for the proper motor mounting rubber and bands etc.

Good luck with your search.
I have just restored a Connoisseur BD2A and it sounds magnificent through my Naim amp.
BTW..... the messages from the 'plonker' ref buy a CD obviously does not appreciate the difference in vinyl vs Digital.

Alternatively you may try the 99p shop(s) if you have one locally and buy their tap washers kits.....100's in the box all different sizes.
these washers can also double as bands for the T/T mount bands... Thats is what I've used whilst waiting for my new mounting kit to arrive.

Best of luck in your restoration/repair and good wishes.

Oh I forgot to add... try 'Vinylengine' for their manuals and tips on old turntables.
Loads of good feedback there to anyone trying to get old info', documents and restoration advice on old turntables, as well as hi-fi.
