IME the AP2496 is not really designed to drive low impedance
headphones like Grados. It can work, but there might be some audible
frequency response variations due to the impedance curve of the
headphones interacting with relatively high output impedance of the
AP2496. I'm not saying that the output impedance of the AP2496 is
high for a quality audio interface, I'm saying its high for a
headphone amplifier.
Oh OK. Darn it. I only just bought this combo and can't really afford
