Default Dead technics CD player

My Technics SL-P277A has died. Whenever you put a CD in it fails to read it
and acts as if there's no CD in it. Any one got any ideas? Ones involving
repair rather than "Look on ebay for another ancient CD player" please .

Have you tried cleaning the lens?

That's one way to do it. I did this on a SL-P477 last year, and it only
took about 10 minutes. You can also get a lens cleaner CD from most high
street stores, these will do the job in a couple of minutes.

try cotton bud and gently brush the lens - NO ipa should be necessary unless
your cat has ****ed all over it.
