DVD audio question.
I don't totally understand your question? But I'm gonna have a stab. A
DVD-Audio player is not really intended for home cinema as it won't have a
video out. It is purely Audio with no Video. But you can get DVD Audio and
Video players, they would be labelled as such.
If a player has the technology to read DVDs (i.e.. two layers of
information) and the software to decode MP3s and Audio CDs then there is no
reason I can think that it should play those files. Anybody out there can
feel free to shoot me down if this is wrong!
If you want to play safe you can get a DVD player that can play pretty much
anything round and shiny you put in it (that fits). Such as the Denon DV565
(and other models) or Pioneer 1400(? can't remember the model number). These
play all types of discs, even SACDs, and loads of files types can be read.
They even make slide shows of JPGs.
I think you're basically asking if you can squeeze huge numbers of MP3s onto
a single DVD? I don't see why not. Sorry about long winded answer, hope it
helped.

Hello group,
Some hi-fi systems I've seen are advertised with having DVD functionality,
which to me appears to mean that these can be used as home cinema upgrades
to your TV and DVD player.
Does it also mean that they can play DVD's too? By that I mean could you
record a DVD full of music or mp3's on your pc and play it back on such a
unit like a normal CD?
TIA.
