I a Magnum Dynalab FM tuner the Etude have very large roof aerial

Everything works very well apart from BBC Radio 4 93.5

When ever I have that channel on, there is a hum from the speakers

Is there an electrical fault, that could cause it?

I presume that you are using the Wrotham radio 4 transmitter?. It is
possible for a transmitter to have a fault on it for some while
especially if its a relay station out in the sticks, but a transmitter
in earshot of Broadcasting hice isn't likely to be duff for long!.

Are you certain that radio 3 hasn't got the same hum?.

I cant say I've heard of a tuner doing a similar fault like this on
different frequencies.

Mains hum loops are possible, and I've had one here as the aerial in
question is very well earthed for lightning protection, and that set
up a good 'um loop.

Question.. is there any fluorescent lighting close by?.

Other than that difficult to point out the cause, is it possible you
can post up an MP3 sample of the hum and quite bits of R3 and R4?....

radio 3 has no hum :-(

no fluorescent lights in house at all
