A few years ago (maybe 10!) I remember visiting Diss in Suffolk and finding
a little second hand hi-fi shop which was really very good. I was there at
the weekend and couldn't find it, has it moved or gone under?

I think you'll find he's moved and is now mainly mail-order/Internet with
visitors by appointment only. (Dave Whitter will be along shortly to give
you a link to his site - probably crossposted.....

FWIW, I also visited his shop a few years back and thought it was a toilet -
amongst the general mess and overall scruffiness, the sight of an expensive
valve amp wilting under the weight of cardboard boxes and other bits and
pieces is still with me!

As is the bull**** he tried to give me about not taking credit cards and
really thought I was going to toddle across town to get the sodding cash
out! That cost him the sale of a DAC at the time, phoning the very next day
to find a credit card over the phone was *no* problem has cost him the sale
of gawd knows what ever since. I'll never bother him again.....

I have been a customer on a couple of occasions: for a pair of Tannoy
Yorks and for a Leak Stereo amplifier and I got good service both
times - before and after sale.

Can't recall for certain if I paid by creditcard but I think I did.
