this fellow is over the moon. If he had made such an overture in this group he
would
be hanging from a lamp-post by now

This is my experience of special interest groups. I belong to the Leak group,
and Leakies are continually exchanging help on rebuilding amps - what parts and
part values, fault finding, valuing etc etc. As you say, members also say 'come
over and I'll take a look'. I don't see why we can't do that on this group -
I'm building a PSU for a CD player and Dave Plowman has been very helpful. "We
can do it if we just jack down to it", as Taj Mahal says...... I don't know if
I'm picking up the jungle elegraph correctly but I sense a new atmosphere of
hope and co-operation developing on this ng. Lurkers are coming forward and
posting, and emotionally excitable people like me (I'm Welsh) are making a big
effort to stay on the virtual beta blockers. Andy
