How about something that keeps all the storage external? I've been
wondering about this. Not exactly hi-fi though! About 1/10 of the price of
the above box but you seem to need a windows (blech!) pc somewhere...

I did consider something like this as there are lots of them about and they
are pretty cheap but at the end of the day i dont want to have to have my PC
on all the time.
I much prefer the idea of having the storage in the hifi component itself so
it can operate independantly of any PC even if it will cost me a bit (well
ok, a lot) more to get it.
