Did anybody listen to Performance on 3 just now and hear that clown emit that loud *standout* cough just a few bars before the end of Simon Rattle's Messiaen - Eclairs Sur L'Au-Dela, just as the music subsided into the few closing notes of a superb morendo, following a great climaxial last movement...??? I suppose that it was an obvious bloke was a change - I don't think I've heard a concert on 3 where the *same* stoopid bint (or so it seems) hasn't done exactly the same sort of thing every single time!! 'Live Event'?? - Don't make me sodding larf..... |

Yes, I remember that - he said 'tell 'em we're busy' or summat very similar??? Wot fecked me off Tony, is that was the first PO3 I've heard on FM, *in stereo*, for a damn long time. It was a long and difficult work that I don't think I will ever need to repeat and I could have done without this tit's input so very close to the end!! SR held the auditorium in silence at the end for what seemed a very long time - mebbe he was ****ed as well, but it did pull it all down very nicely and went a long way to resetting the 'balance'.... |

I know what you mean, I have a 'live' recording of Peter Frampton playing an
intricate guitar piece somewhere in USA. Midway through the piece, some utter **** lets off a firework! Unfortunately, in audio editing terms, this is difficult to separate from the music, even in Cool Edit (clicks and pops on vinyl are very short duration and easy to isolate). Dave W. Ever tried just chopping out the whole duration? - Surprising how effective it can be sometimes! |

I'll give that a go, see if I can spot the rhythym graphically.

If that's too easy to hear, insert/substitute a blank clip of (approximate) equal duration and join up the dots with a fake waveform that matches as close as is easily doable - then run it by someone who doesn't know what you've done! ;-) |

Thanks Keith G; I think I see what you mean, but that's a bit beyond my
competence. I just zoomed in and did trial-and-error cuts (and 'undo') until it sounded OK. The fact that it is a 'live' recording, with audience noise, helps a fair bit. Amazing how that bang just blended into the music, graphically speaking. Dave W. "Keith G" wrote in message ... "Dave W." wrote in message ... If you want to do the job properly, find a bit of ambience from some other part of the recording, and insert that to the length of the bang. Also experiment with reducing the level of the bang rather than editing it out. -- *Can atheists get insurance for acts of God? * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |
