There surely must be a simple MP3 editing proggy available for a PC? I
don't use a PC, but have got an excellent one for mine - but it only
does Wave.

I've been using GoldWave on PC for a few years now. Easy, straightforward,
graphical, intuitive and does everything that's been discussed here. I've
never needed to look at anything else

Goldwave costs a few quid nowadays - for those after something cheaper,
