I'm looking for a gap-filler amp to drive some JM Lab Electra 905.

This Marantz Class A/AB amp has had some good reviews....

Any comments?

Found this picture of the amp that causes temporary mental impairment.
I do not recommend viewing this picture after consuming alcohol.

It's Grim down south..

I bought one a while ago as a backup. It's fine and drives my Dynaudio
speakers well. To my mind less glassy than the Roksan Kandy with firmer
bass; more like an Audiolab 8000A I had a while ago. The switching is a
pain - the tone controls have to be in when you select tape; the
amplifier should be switched off to select the class A thing (not sure I
noticed any difference except heat). Nicely screwed together - again
more Audiolab than Roksan - except the volume/input selectors are not as
solid as they look and the remote's tacky.

Overall, fine, no complaints for the money. Glad to get back to a valve
amp though!

And it is big and heavy - that picture's actually rather flattering :-).
