I'm sure its the Pre Amp rather than the Power Amp because if I change
the linking RCAs around (have tried another pair too) the problem moves
over to the other channel, so that rules out the power amp.
Do you think Cambridge would accept that as a fault being that the
volume is only just coming off of 0. I'm wondering if they would say
that comparable results between the left and right channels cant be
taken unless there is a reasonable amount of volume going through the
system.
At extremely low volume settings most analogue volume controls go out of
balance - which is why many good quality amps will have a 'low level'
button for this purpose. But the 'clarity' should be the same - only the
level might be wrong.
